After one bite, my husband informed me this slow-cooker ham was the best I've ever made. I invented it because I’m always buying international condiments and finding ways to use them. Sumac is the secret ingredient here.
Ingredients
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons ground sumac
1 teaspoon adobo seasoning
6 to 8 pounds fully cooked smoked bone-in ham
1 cup prepared chutney (preferably major grey's)
1/2 large sweet onion
1 can (12 ounces) ginger ale
Directions
In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, sumac and adobo salt; rub over ham. Spread chutney over top; transfer to a 7-qt. slow cooker. Add sliced onions and ginger ale; cover and cook on low until a thermometer reads 140°, 6-8 hours
